News Update

The South West Sydney Academy of Sport has a long history of providing development and representative Rugby League program opportunities to Group 6 Junior Rugby League players, with the direct support of the Wests Tigers.

The Wests Tigers Board has recently transferred its responsibility of junior rugby league development and representative football, to the Wests Magpies senior club.

Group 6 Junior Rugby League in conjunction with the Academy, have taken this opportunity to review its junior representative coaching program; recognising that in past years representative squads have had a short lead-in time together, prior to participating in the Country Championship.

The 2015 Country Championships will see Group 6 junior representative squads come together early in the New Year, and train up to their participation in the Country Championships.

The South West Sydney Academy of Sport will support the Group 6 representative program by conducting Fitness Testing at the commencement of the program, with a secondary testing evaluation to be undertaken later in the program.

Individual Player Fitness Testing Reports and recommendations will be provided to all players.

The Academy will also support each players future sports development by providing a number of important Rugby League specific education sessions, as part of your overall representative program.

Group 6 Junior Rugby League is appreciative of the continued support of the Academy and the Academy is proud to be associated with the continued development of our junior representative players.
