Our 15's Netball program runs for four months from July to October.
Selections are made in April following a trial process where NSW Netball oversee the process. Athletes aged 15 years old are eligible to apply for this squad with the objective of being selected into Netball NSW Talent squads.
Selections are held prior to the Annual State Age Carnival, however athletes do not participate in any on-court training sessions until after their Stage Age requirements with their local representative clubs are complete.
The aim of the 15's Netball squad is Talent Identification with Netball NSW.
The 15's age group is a major focus for Netball NSW, who have introduced the 15's category across all 11 Regional Academies of Sport. Every 15's squad is bound by the same limitations on training and preparation time, with athletes competing in the Academy Games in October each year.
Athletes who participate in this program are then invited to trial for the SWSAS Netball Open squad for the following year.
The SWSAS 15's Squad will not have any on-court training until after the State Age Championships- July 5-7.
The squad will be updated on additional education and training sessions that will take place during August and September ahead of the Academy Games in October.
