Our Netball program runs for ten months from January to October.
Selections are made in November following a trial process where NSW Netball oversee the process. Athletes between 16 and 18 years old are eligible to apply for this squad with the objective of making NSW U/17's and NSW U/19's squad.
The Opens Netball squad participates in the NIB Games, competing as two teams, during July, with a select team representing the SWSAS at the Academy Games competition in October each year.
The Academy program fits in as much as possible with the demands placed on athletes with their club responsibilities and regional opportunities. NSWIS coaches provide training to the additional education sessions which are the hallmark of the Academy program. It is the objective of this program to get as many girls as possible up to the levels required to hold a place in state squads.
