The Academy Softball Program is made up of aged 14 and 15 year old boys and girls. Around 24 athletes train with the SWSAS Academy squad. Our program runs from November to July with an open trial process taking place in August / September. The objective of the program is to train our athletes to the standard for NSW Under 16 selection.
The squad trains weekly working on fitness and skills. Our squads are very professional and always demonstrate great attitude to the games they are able to play. Traditionally the program starts with a camp where the education sessions mix in nicely with training.
In 2007 our boys won the NIB Games, and finished runners-up at the prestigious Dandenong Tournament.
In 2008, our squad will once again compete in the Melbourne tournaments during Easter, in preparation for the Regional Academy Games and the NIB Games in July.
