Four SWSAS representatives recognised by Camden Australia Day Sports Awards

Camden Council's outstanding Australia Day sports awards presentation saw local triathlon coach Guy Creber recognised as the Australia Day 'Sports Person of the Year' and Nathaniel Stewart recognised as the joint Australia Day 'Junior Sports Person of the Year'.

Creber and Stewart were two of four South West Sydney Academy of Sport representatives recognised on the day.

Creber is recognised as one of the most successful triathlon coaches in NSW, after successfully developing many of his junior athletes to become NSW champions, over the past 3 years.

He diligently devotees his time to creating programs, training sessions and camps for athletes of all abilities.

He is well known for his detail to planning and expectation, be it a requirement for himself or his athletes. He works to the theory that small improvements and attention to detail bring quality results.

Nathaniel Stewart's Australia Day junior sports person recognition is well deserved. Stewart optimises everything required of an athlete to be successful in their given sport.

His recent selection as a NSW senior Australian Hockey League representative, deservedly followed his achieves as NSW junior male indoor hockey player of the year, his Australian team 'Futures Camp' selection, Australia U21 bronze medalist and Junior Olympic Games gold medalist.

Although Stewart's own development and high level representative obligations now substantially limit his personal time, he continues to be extremely committed to local junior development and also continues to assist the staff of the South West Sydney Academy of Sport hockey program, at every opportunity.

He continues to strategically plan his training and events to support his self-improvement with his ultimate goal of representing his country at the highest level; which is a goal not too far away for this outstanding player.

Young local athletes Noah Graham and Ella Wooldridge were also appropriate recognised as junior sports person nominees.

At only 8 years of age, Noah Graham has already made a considerable mark on junior golf. In July, Noah's passion for the sport saw him represent Australia at the 'Word Stars of Junior Golf' in Las Vegas, USA. Noah has also ventured overseas to represent Australia at the Trans-Tasman Cup against New Zealand.

Although often in the spot-light due to his young age and ability, Noah shows sportsmanship and teamwork well beyond his years and competes graciously.

Ella Wooldridge is an outstanding triathlon talent and all round junior sports person. Ella has represented NSW in age specific events across triathlon, athletics track and steeple events as well as cross country.

Wooldridge's main passion is triathlon, where she recently placed second in the U14 age division at the NSW All Schools championships. She has also qualified for the 2017 National junior championships in 2km steeple and 3km track events. Her aspiration is to represent Australia at the 2024 Olympic Games.
