Academy Seeks Coaching Staff for 25th Program Year

The Academy is currently seeking nominations for coaching and support staff across its many sports programs. Quality coaches and developing coaches are very important to the Academy, and we want to see them re-join sport, as soon as possible. And in this regard we are seeking to engage our 2022 coaching staff now, to allow the Academy’s sports programs to commence as soon as the current lockdown permits.

Academy Athlete Sport Program Nominations OPEN

The Academy has opened its 2022 athlete sport program nominations, with plans to trial (subject to the NSW Government RoadMap) throughout November 2021.

To be eligible, athletes must reside in, or, attend school, or, compete with a registered sports association in the local Government areas of Campbelltown, Camden, Liverpool or Wollondilly, and meet sport specific aged criteria as listed below. (School year is given as a guide)

Eligible Athletes Include:

AFL WOMENS

  • Females Only
  • U/14, U/16 &U/18
  • Turning 13-18 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2004-2009
  • School Year: 6-12

BASKETBALL

  • Males and Females
  • U/14 & U/16
  • Turning 12-15 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2007-2010.
  • School Year: 6-9

BMX

  • Males and Females
  • Turning 14-18 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2004-2008
  • School year: 8-12

GOLF

  • Males and Females
  • 13-17 yrs old at start of program
  • Born 2004-2009
  • School year: 7-12
  • Handicap of  <18 Males, <27 Females

NETBALL

  • Females
  • U/17
  • 15-16 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2006-2007
  • School year: 9-10

NETBALL UMPIRE

  • Males and Females
  • 14-18 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2004-2008
  • School year:8-12
  • Min 70% in rules of netball theory, 
  • Working towards National C level umpire, or
  • Umpiring experience at a representative carnival level. 

MEN'S NETBALL

  • Males
  • 12-16 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2006-2010
  • School year: 7-10

SOFTBALL

  • Males and Females
  • U15 & U17
  • 14-16 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2006-2008
  • School year: 8-10

VOLLEYBALL (Indoor and Beach)

  • Males and Females
  • 12-18 yrs old in 2022
  • Born 2004-2010
  • School year: 6-12

FUTURE STAR PROGRAM

  • Males and Females
  • Turning 12 -21 in 2022
  • Born 2001-2010
  • School year 6-12
  • State or National level in a sport discipline not serviced by an Academy sport program listed above.  

INDIGENOUS ATHLETE PROGRAM

  • Males and Females
  • Nominated and selected into any Academy sport program listed above, including Future Stars
  • Identify as Indigenous or Torres Strait Islander.
