South West Sydney Headed to Nationals

The South West Sydney Academy of Sport is excited to announce that three teams from within its Sharp EIT Solutions 3x3 Basketball Program have been successful in gaining an invitation to compete at the NBL 3x3 Hustle National Championships, to take place in Geelong April 14-16, 2025.

The Academy will be sending a team of four self-funded athlete representatives in the 18 Girls, 18 Boys, and 14 Boys Divisions to compete against fellow 3x3 teams from around the nation.

Following on from a successful Christmas Clash National Qualification tournament in Gosford in late December, where our 18 Boys took out the event, our 18 Girls found themselves recipients of automatic qualification, much to the delight of the athletes and program staff.

Continuing on from that event, our 14 Boys performed exceptionally well at the Sutherland Surf Clash in January, where they earned themselves a wildcard invitation directly from NBL Hustle.

With the success of the 2024-2025 3x3 Basketball Program, and the support of Sharp EIT Solutions, the Academy is now looking ahead to build upon that success in within its mainstream Basketball program in the years ahead.

If you wish to get behind our first ever 3x3 Nationals-bound teams, please contact the Academy Office via media@swsas.org.au for more information.

Alternatively, show your support for the Academy and its 3x3 Basketball program by participating in the Komatsu Australia 3x3 Corporate Cup, hosted by the South West Sydney Academy of Sport on Thursday 17 April, 2025.

What is 3x3?

3x3 Basketball is an enjoyable brand of basketball with a great atmosphere of music and entertainment throughout the games. Games are played by teams of 4 (with three players on court at one time), on a traditional half-court.

Games are ten minutes in length, or the first team to score 21.

This format allows teams to play in a multiple number of games in a short period of time.

3x3 provides the perfect format for Corporate partners to experience the exhilaration of 3x3 Basketball, as well as provide a great business networking opportunity.

The Agenda.

The morning will start at 7:30am over breakfast, followed by on-court action from 8:00am on the indoor half-courts.

Team Entry: $200 per team of up to 4 participants (ex-GST)
