2025 Date To Be Confirmed

The South West Sydney Academy of Sport invites you to get amongst it at our second annual Komatsu 3x3 Corporate Cup, for business, community and sporting organisations, school staff teams, Councils, media teams, community service providers such as Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance services, as well as our Academy corporate partners and supporters.

Further information on the 2025 Event will be posted as available, with a potential date in September / October the likely timing.

What is 3x3?

3x3 Basketball is an enjoyable brand of basketball with a great atmosphere of music and entertainment throughout the games. Games are played by teams of 4 (three on court at one time), on a half-court, in ten minute games, or first team to score 21. This format allows teams to play in a multiple number of games in a short period of time.

3x3 provides the perfect format for Corporate partners to experience the exhilaration of 3x3 Basketball, as well as provide a great business networking opportunity.

The morning will start at 7:30am over breakfast, followed by an on-court rules clinic, and match play from 8:00am on the indoor half-courts.

A guest speaker presentation may take place over a sausage sizzle lunch, followed by the Komatsu 3x3 Corporate Cup Final tip-off. The event concluding at 2:00pm (Subjet to final draw).

Proposed Divisions

There are currently three mixed divisions on offer:

Division 1 - Elite Mixed (Limited to 8 teams)

Division 2 - Social Mixed (Limited to 16 teams)

Junior Invitational Division (Limited to 6 teams)

Proposed Format

Where possible, Division 1 will compete in two pools of four.

Each team will play a minimum of three games.

The Top Two teams in each pool will play a Semi Final with the winner progressing to the Division 1 Final. The Semi Final losers will play each other for 3rd and 4th.

Teams finishing 3rd and 4th in each pool will cross over for a playoff game.

Division 2 will compete in four pools of four.

Each team will play a minimum of three games.

The Top Team in each pool will play a Semi Final with the winner progressing to the Division 2 Final.

The Junior Invitational Division will feature athletes from the South West Sydney Academy of Sport 3x3 Program, and invited Junior-age appropriate teams.

Junior teams will play a minimum of three games.

There will be no finals for the Junior Division.

Subject to numbers, waitlist and any additional court space (including access to outdoor courts), the Academy may alter Division Compositions and Pools, including combining Divisions for pool play, before splitting for Finals.

The Academy may enter a team from the 3x3 Basketball Program to fill numbers within a pool if required.
