South West Sydney Academy of Sport Sport Administration Officer Job Available
The South West Sydney Academy of Sport is seeking a highly motivated person to provide quality administrative support as a member of the Academy Administration team. The Sport Administration Officer role works closely with the Academy Chief Executive Officer, Academy Sport Programs and Operations Manager, and State Sporting Organisations (SSO’s) in the development and delivery of scholarship programs for talent identified athletes between 14 and 18 years. The position is required to provide administrative support to the Sport Programs and Operations Manager as to the day-to-day operational activities of the Academy and more specifically the administration of the athlete development program, ensuring they contribute to the talent development pathway for each sport discipline and benefit the performance and community development of each athlete. Key Areas of Responsibilities include: · Sport Program Administration · Communication and Media · Events and Marketing · General Office Duties The ideal candidate will have: (a) Knowledge The position requires a basic understanding of the structure of the sports industry and its operational mechanisms, including an understanding of the role of Regional Academies in the provision of support services to regional athletes (b) Skills Key skills include written and oral communications, preparation of media articles, detailed reports, correspondence, and minutes of meetings. Negotiation skills, sound interpersonal skills and well-developed administrative skills are also essential to the position. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, and the capacity to relate to a wide spectrum of society is essential. High level computer skills including Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, online data bases such as Sharepoint, Smartsheet and XPS, and e-newsletters are required. (c) Experience The position is required to possess experience in administration. Knowledge and/or practical experience in strength and conditioning programming, events, media and marketing, administrative functions, and communication with a variety of government and community stakeholders are highly desirable. Experience in servicing committees and a diverse range of clients is desirable. Essential Requirements
Desirable Criteria Work Location The Academy office is located in Campbelltown, NSW Australia. The majority of work is conducted during normal office hours within the office administration environment. There are however required periods of work that occur outside normal office hours and off-site attending meetings and/or athlete training and education sessions.
